About Us

We bring together creatives to learn, share, and grow with one another in a safe, inclusive space so that we can build a supportive community, offer our gifts to the world with confidence and personal satisfaction, and, for some, thrive as creative professionals and mentors.

Welcome to a creative community that celebrates you and everything that creativity means to you, both personally and perhaps professionally too. Find exclusive content, answers, ideas, support, and new friends.

This is an affirming, inclusive, safe and welcoming online space for you to interact with other creative souls (yes, you *are* creative) on a variety of topics that may interest you.  Unlike a Facebook group, there is no data collection here, no targeted ads, no trolls allowed, and you can choose from specific topic sections to really focus in on those things that interest you, easily finding threads without endless scrolling and searching.  You can even suggest new topics if you'd like!

As of right now, we have a number of topic sections focused primarily on fiber art and homesteading, with some general topics (for example, pets, book club, travel club, recipe swap) in the mix as well. Additionally, we have topic sections for writers and small business/studio owners to find conversation and support.

I will also be providing useful content (how-to's, videos, livestreams, craft-alongs, writing challenges) on a regular basis, much of which will only be available to members on this platform.

The moderator: I am Elizabeth Miller, owner and artisan at Parris House Wool Works, a studio for all things rug hooking, fiber art, and homesteading.  I am also a writer.  I recently authored Heritage Skills for Contemporary Life: Seasons at the Parris House and I also sometimes write for Making magazine and Rug Hooking Magazine. Additionally, I teach many aspects of traditional rug hooking both in my own studio here at the historic Parris House in Paris, Maine and at teaching venues around the American northeast.  My work has been featured in the aforementioned magazines, in a variety of other publications, and on the Magnolia Network television show, "Maine Cabin Masters" (season 7, episode 704).

I love fiber art of all kinds, homesteading, animals/pets, sailing on Maine windjammers, kayaking and hiking, writing, travel, my beloved home state of Maine and my adopted Canadian province, Nova Scotia.

I'm looking forward to learning more about you. Please join us in making this community warm, welcoming, and active.
